Luma - LDAP browser, utility and more.

About Luma
Luma is a graphical utility for accessing and managing data stored on LDAP servers. It is written in Python, using PyQt and python-ldap. Plugin-support is included and useful widgets with LDAP-functionality for easy creation of plugins are delivered.
Currently Luma supports english, german, portuguese and norwegian.

Distributions
Luma is being giftwrapped for more linux/unix-distributions each day. Who knows, maybe Luma already is packaged for your OS/distribution.
The distributions we're aware Luma is maintained are:
  • Debian (and derivatives such as Ubuntu and Kubuntu)
  • Gentoo
  • Mandriva
  • FreeBSD
Please let us know if any other distributions are packaging Luma for you.

We also have reports of users using Luma on their cute PowerPC-powered Mac OS X.
As soon as we have installation-howto from these users - we'll post them for the rest of you.


Language support
Since Luma first started up, Luma has gained more and more users internationally. And more and more volounteer to translate Luma into their own native languange. For the latest release Luma support the following languages:

  • Norwegian (bokmål)
  • Swedish
  • Russian
  • Portoguese (Brazil)
  • French

More translators are welcome. Specially volounteers for Norwegian (nynorsk) are appreciated.


Wanted/Missing features
  • Adding object classes to existing entries.
  • ACI-wizard (for storing access control instructions as ldap objects)
  • Samba-support in the UserManagement-plugin, or a new plugin based on UM.
  • Support for adding Kerberos-principals from UserManagement-plugin.
